BUILDING DEPARTMENT PERMIT SUPERVISOR

The City of Holmes Beach Building Department is actively seeking a Building Permit Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of the construction industry, possess excellent customer service and training skills, be comfortable with and good at multi-tasking and problem-solving. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and work well in a busy, fast-paced environment.

The Permit Supervisor is responsible for the ongoing process of correctly managing and tracking the flow of all building permits from application to issuance. The Permit Supervisor reports to the Building Official and is the administrative interface between the Building Official and the public. The Permit Supervisor trains and supervises the Permit Technician in the collection of permitting fees, issuance of permits, maintenance of contractorsí licensing, insurance, and registration files; and directs the scheduling of daily building inspections. The Permit Supervisor continually improves the level of customer service to the contracting community and City residents.

Minimum qualifications: Education: An Associateís Degree in Business, Construction, Engineering or the Sciences. Experience: Three years experience in construction permitting, in either the private or public sector. Credentials: Certification as a Permit Technician with the International Code Congress or attainment of same within 180 days of hire.

POLICE DEPARTMENT RECORDS CLERK-CODE ENFORCEMENT CLERK

The City of Holmes Beach Police Department is actively seeking a Records Clerk/Code Enforcement Clerk. This position is a full time (40 hours/week) shared position between the Police Department and Code Enforcement. The position reports to the Chief of Police or his designee.

The Records Clerk serves as a specialist in the development, implementation and administration of records management for the Police Department and Special Magistrate for Code Enforcement. The Code Enforcement Clerk provides administrative and secretarial support to the Code Enforcement Officers.

The ideal candidate must be highly organized and able to multi-task; must have the ability to prioritize based upon multiple criteria and standards of policy and procedures set forth by law enforcement. The candidate should have working knowledge of Chapter 162, Florida Statutes, which governs Code Enforcement; Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, which governs public records law; and Chapter 286, Florida Statutes, which addresses Florida/Sunshine Law. The candidate should be highly proficient in computer use and a variety of software.

Salary range is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
